Service Description

Learn how to ecoprint on lambskin leather naturally as well as create a beautiful background in color! Ecoprinting (also known as botanical printing) involves collecting leaves, plants and flowers to imprint their images directly upon their leather. Students will learn: • Leather-everything you need to know to understand, locate, select and work with leathers that accept ecoprinting no matter where you live! • Equipment-what you need and how to use it (most of which you already have! • Plants-All about plants, leaves, weeds and flowers and using them on Leather • Mordants- descriptions and ratios • Dyes- easy to use selections for permanent results • Care - and conditioning of your leather • Tools- cross over tools many crafters already have for leather work. • Sources for leather, dyes and mordants and tools (in US and online) • Facebook Group-private group exclusively for my students and Tutorial buyers to learn more At the end of class students will leave with 2 samples (approx. 8” x 18”) of ecoprinted lambskin leather- naturally ecoprinted and in color and the ability to continue the process with the knowledge learned in the workshop. Beginner friendly!- Students should bring leaves from their area with emphasis on high tannin leaves such as oak, maples, rose, hickory, sumac and interesting weeds. Fun additional plants (usually store bought) are eucalyptus and colorful flowers such as daisy type flowers. No thick plants. 1 partial roll of paper towels Collect leaves-fresh or dried-dried leaves can be rehydrated at class in water Class cost includes materials and registration fees.

Cancellation Policy

Each Workshop has a minimum and maximum number of students. If minimum is not reached two weeks before the scheduled event, the class is subject to cancellation. Once maximum is reached, the class will be closed and a waiting list will be generated. Further instructions for the workshop will be emailed to each student prior to the class. Workshop Refund Policy – no refunds within 5 days of event- except in cases of total event cancellation. 50% refund 15+ days prior to the event.
